Let's get your project started.

Here's everything you need to set up before we begin — it's simpler than it looks, and I'm here to help if you get stuck.

👋

Before I start building your website, there are a few things that need to be set up in your name. This keeps you in full control of your online presence — if you ever change web designers or want to manage things yourself, everything belongs to you.

1
Register your domain name

Your domain is your web address — for example yourbusiness.co.uk. You need to own this yourself.

  • Go to cloudflare.com/products/registrarSearch for your preferred domain name
  • Create a free Cloudflare accountUse your business email address
  • Register your domainCloudflare sells domains at cost with no markup — usually £8–12/year for a .co.uk
  • Share your Cloudflare login details with meI'll need access to set up your DNS records when we go live
Not sure what domain to pick? Go for yourbusinessname.co.uk if you're UK-based, or .com if you serve customers worldwide. Keep it short and easy to spell. I'm happy to advise before you register.

2
Set up a business email address

A professional email like hello@yourbusiness.co.uk makes a huge difference to how clients perceive you. Here are your options:

  • Free option — Cloudflare Email RoutingForwards emails sent to your business address straight to your existing inbox. Takes 5 minutes to set up. I can do this for you.
  • Paid option — Google Workspace (£4.60/month)A full Gmail inbox at your custom address. Best option if you send a lot of outbound emails to clients.
My recommendation: Start with the free Cloudflare forwarding. Upgrade to Google Workspace once you're trading and sending regular client emails.

3
Create a Google account for your business

We'll use this to set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console — two free tools that show you how many people visit your site and how it appears in Google search results.

  • Create a Google accountGo to accounts.google.com — use your business email if possible
  • Share the email address with meI'll create and set up both Google Analytics and Search Console for you, then add you as an admin
Important: These accounts should be registered to you, not me. That way your website data is always yours, no matter what happens in the future.

4
Send me your content

I'll need a few things from you to build your site. Don't worry if you don't have everything — we can work with what you have and build the rest together.

  • Your logoPNG or SVG format if you have one — if not, I can help with basic branding
  • Photos of your work or teamEven phone photos are fine to start with. Good images make a big difference.
  • A short description of your businessWhat you do, who you help, and what makes you different
  • Your services and prices (if you want them listed)Totally optional — many businesses prefer not to show prices publicly
  • Any websites you like the look ofThis helps me understand your style preferences
